In twelve years in New York, I’d never seen shit like this until the weeks after Trump decided not to denounce it.  Now it is a frequent sight around town: in the subway, in parks, in playgrounds.

You may not have invited the dog onto the bed.  But when he hops up and you let him stay, you have given permission.
