Soldotna, Alaska. July 26, 2011. 10pm. Red salmon run up the Kenai River from the Pacific every summer to spawn. The weaker among them don’t survive the trip and rot along the bank while fishermen cast lines in the current and let the thousands of two-foot salmon simply hook themselves.
