It’s usually subtle: some color issue you couldn’t figure out, or a compositional element that throws things off in a meaningless way.  Here are a handful of photos from recent months that I couldn’t find but still have something to them I like: a shadow, a gradation, an iPhone distortion.  Love them or be embarrassed for me; they’re illuminating either way.
